The Position

ElectroRoute is seeking to appoint a Trading Solutions Analyst to create new business opportunities and develop and expand the suite of services offered by ElectroRoute to the market. The candidate will also support the integration of our clients into the ElectroRoute infrastructure and manage client relationships on an on-going basis.


The Role of the Trading Solutions Analyst will include:
  • Originating new forms of business across a range of asset classes and client profiles and engaging regularly with potential new clients.
  • Developing new and innovative products and services for clients developing flexible technologies, and/or clients requiring bespoke risk management services across their business activities.
  • Working closely with colleagues across numerous business units to develop and integrate new products and services
  • Understanding the energy, ancillary services and capacity markets in Ireland and other European markets with a view to supporting the development of products/services and the successful integration of new clients into the ElectroRoute infrastructure.
  • Developing relationships with key personnel within client organisations and understanding their needs and expectations.
  • Representing the business externally on key forums and at conferences and seminars.
  • Managing the on-going relationships with clients.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the ElectroRoute Trading Solutions business unit including involvement in business development activities and client proposals.
  • Input into profile building activity including blog posts, networking at conference and so on.
Reporting Relationship

The position will work within the Trading Solutions division reporting directly to the Head of Trading Solutions.


The Successful Candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the energy sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients, traders, back office, finance and IT functions.
  • Strong understanding of the electricity sector and ancillary services regimes, particularly in Ireland.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to be organised, flexible, prioritise tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Diligence with an attention to detail in particular in relation to documentation skills for processes, procedures and business requirements .
  • Problem solving and a can-do attitude, coupled with a high level of resilience and tenacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Additional elements which are desirable for the role include:
  • A University degree in a related field (engineering, finance, law).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of how the Irish electricity market operates, including registrations and settlement.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of how the Irish gas market operates.
  • Problem solving and a can-do attitude, coupled with a high level of resilience and tenacity.
  • Full clean driver’s licence.


Remuneration: Package commensurate with experience.
