ELECTROROUTE ENTERS DUTCH MARKET 29 Nov 2013
ElectroRoute received its authorisation from the Dutch electricity system operator TenneT to trade electricity in the electricity market of the Netherlands. This will be ElectroRoute’s first activity in Continental Europe, and ElectroRoute plans to increase its presence there by entering into other European markets over the next 18 months.
Ronan Doherty, CEO, said, “This is an important milestone which represents the logical next step for ElectroRoute towards realising our vision of being an integrated international service provider. The pan-European energy market being assembled at the moment by governments, regulators and participants is something that Irish firms have arguably been slow to wake up to, and I am happy that ElectroRoute is at the vanguard of this revolution. There is an important role for ElectroRoute in bringing our optimisation skills to the problem and ensuring that the benefits of this change in the landscape flow as increased welfare to all of the citizens of Europe.”
