ElectroRoute Announced as the Winner of the Outstanding Contribution Award in the Inaugural Irish Wind Industry Awards

On Friday 25th January 2019, ElectroRoute was delighted to be named the winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award in the inaugural Irish Wind Industry Awards.

The award, sponsored by Innogy, recognises the very best in the wind industry – those going above and beyond to shape the industry’s future.

Caoimhe Giblin, Head of Client Services at ElectroRoute said “ElectroRoute has pioneered the provision of Supplier Lite trading and management services to renewable assets, allowing independent generators the option of accessing the wholesale market directly, providing value, flexibility and independence to the renewable generation market.”

Innovation in Research & Development Award

ElectroRoute also sponsored the Innovation in Research & Development award which GE Renewable Energy and Microsoft won for the Tullahennel hybrid windfarm and battery project in Co. Kerry, recognizing the project’s innovative features. The 37MW project is the world’s first commercial wind project with integrated power storage. Meaning that even when the breeze isn’t blowing, the project will be contributing power to the grid. The solution is an important step in adding more wind into the energy mix by stabilizing its power supply.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Friday, 25th January 2019, hosted by Ivan Yates in Clontarf Castle, Dublin.
